B&H Farms

Immokalee, FL

Dustin Blank is one of the owners and members of B & H Farms located in Immokalee, FL.  He was born in Illinois and raised on a cattle and grain farm. He and his family moved to Florida when he was 13. In 2008, he started farming here in Florida and now grows (along with his partner Stacey) tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeno peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, watermelons along with a variety or other miscellaneous vegetables on 1500 acres.  Dustin married his wife Stacie in 2001 and has twins, Ty and Rylee.

Stacey Howell is another owner and member of B&H Farms located in Immokalee, FL. He is a 4th generation vegetable farmer born in Gainesville, FL and raised in Immokalee. His dad farmed in Immokalee for 35 years and had an integral role in the start of B & H Farms! Before moving into the vegetable production side of the industry, Stacey was a citrus production manager for 18 years. His primary role is a Field Sales Representative in crop protection, so his knowledge and expertise ranges far and wide.

Immokalee, FL

Wade Purvis grew up in Plant City, FL where he discovered his love for the land early on. He watched his grandfather tend to his vegetable farm there and Wade always had a garden in the yard growing up. He graduated from Florida Southern University and started farming in Immokalee in 1986. He now farms 2000 acres of green beans, edamame Lima beans, and a wide variety of peas, and watermelons. He married his wife Karen in 1987 and has two kids who are both involved in the farm. Kyle runs Alliance Packing in Immokalee and Shayla helps behind the scenes with social media and compliance.

Center Hill Farms

Wauchula, FL

Kyle Braxton is a 2nd generation farmer from Bowling Green, FL and began farming with his father as a child. He spent 12 years closely working with his father in his grove care-taking business, managing 3300 acres of citrus groves. For the last 7 years he has ventured out on his own and has been farming in various locations in Hardee and Manatee Counties. He currently farms watermelons, tomatoes, peppers, squash, eggplant, and beans over 400 acres. Kyle has been married to his wife Sandee for 8 years and they have two children Rocco and Rory.

Cairo, GA

Powe Farms is located in Cairo, GA and is run by Ricky Powe who was born and raised right there in Cairo, GA. He has farmed for over 35 years and his farm is on the same dirt his grandfather started farming in 1952. In 1952, his grandfather spent $2,195 on all the equipment needed to farm 150 acres at that time. Powe farms currently grows a variety of peppers and tomatoes. Ricky got started with his farming career in 1984 with about 20 acres of Lima beans and still has some of the same loyal customers from the day he started. Today, he farms a variety of tomatoes, peppers, pickles, yellow squash, zucchini, and half runner beans. Powe Farms has also started transferring some of their conventional crops over to organic crops to provide a larger selection to customers.

Wilson's Cedar Point Farms

Nancy, KY

Joel Wilson of Wilson’s Cedar Point Farms grew up in Nancy, KY where his farm is located. He farmed all his life and started on the vegetable side of things in 2000. Today he has a wide range of product including strawberries, jalapeno and bell pepper, tomatoes, green beans, sweet corn and a variety of other veggies. He and his wife Beth first met around the same time as his first pepper crop and today she is involved in the ag industry as well working as an Extension Agent for Horticulture.  They were married in 2001 and have 2 children.

La Herradura Farms Farmer

La Herradura Farm is located in Estero, FL and owned by Hermilo Tello Sr. In 1992 he decided to buy some old farm tractors and equipment to start his own farming.

It all began in Naples with 50 acres and a leap of faith.  He now grows 200 acres in Estero, FL since 2001.

The Farm is operated by his son Hermilo Tello Jr, daughter in law Alma Tello and his two grandsons Benny and Emilo Tello. Along the years we’ve grown a variety of crops from Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Watermelon, Peppers, Egg Plant and Cucumbers, but our faith stayed with the Squash. Now we solely grow Zucchini and Yellow Squash. La Herradura Farm grows 200 acres of Zucchini and Yellow Squash throughout the season to provide fresh quality to the consumer.

Cornett Enterprises

London, KY

Brent Cornett is a producer in London, KY.  Brent grew up on a dairy and tobacco farm and later attended the University of Kentucky and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education and a minor in Agriculture Economics.  Brent has farmed since 2001 with his wife, Rhonda.  Rhonda also grew up on a dairy and tobacco farm and attended the University of Kentucky where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education.

They purchased their home farm from Brent’s parents in 2009, creating Cornett Enterprises, LLC.  During their farming tenure, they have raised burley tobacco, grain, hay, cattle, and hogs along with wholesale produce.  Currently, they raise around 125 acres of produce along with operating a farrow to finish operation of about 30 sows, and about 30 brood cows.  In addition, they have a 40,000 square foot greenhouse operation and 30,000 square foot of cold frame vegetables. In 2020, Brent and Rhonda launched their retail produce store, Cornett Farm Fresh to serve their local community with local, high-quality produce.

Brent and Rhonda have two children, Jarrod and Miranda.  Jarrod’s responsibility in the operation includes logistics and shipping, equipment operation, and sales/marketing.  Miranda’s focus in the operation is horticulture and field operations, sales/marketing, and labor management.
